Swift is a global member-owned cooperative and the world’s leading provider of secure financial messaging services. The ask was to join the Agile Transformation team and drive the implementation of the Agile values and principles in the company as an Agile Coach.

​

  • Drive the adoption of Agile practices in the tribe and help new teams to participate in ceremonies and solve hindrances from a methodological and interpersonal point of view. Act as a center of expertise for Agile. 

  • Coach and mentor squads to be self-organising, collaborative and follow Agile practices

  • Focus on delivery of outcomes based on tribe OKRs

  • Facilitate agile adoption on product management through implementing process and optimising tribe (BRP) and squad ceremonies (backlog refinement, sprint planning, poker estimation, stand ups, sprint review and retrospectives)

  • Assess the Scrum Maturity of the team and organisation and coach the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organisation

Liberty Specialty Markets

Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM) offers specialty and commercial insurance and reinsurance products across the world.

LSM was progressively implementing Agile practices and needed an experienced Agilist to lead a team focusing on the development and implementation of key integration capabilities across a number of strategic underwriting platforms

 

  • Guiding the team and organisation on how to use Agile/Scrum practices, mentoring staff on the new  processes as required, and ultimately owning the process to deliver software products and associated value to business customers

  • Facilitate agile adoption through implementing processes and optimising ceremonies (backlog refinement, sprint planning, poker estimation, stand-ups, sprint review, and retrospectives)

  • Working with multiple teams in delivering master data management, integrations with policy admin systems, clearance, and submission using microservices

  • Initiate DevOps transformation to embed CI/CD mechanism

Lloyds Banking Group is one of the UK's largest financial services organisations, with 30 million customers and 65,000 employees.

 

The ask was to support Lloyds Engineering transformation programme with managing of agile delivery team.

  • Coaching the team in self-organisation and cross-functionality

  • Enacting change & continuous improvement to increase the productivity of the team and quality of deliverables

  • Coaching the team in organisational environments in which scrum is not yet fully adopted and understood

  • Ensuring continuous improvement and feedback through conducting regular retrospective reviews and executing high priority actions that emerge

Cazenove Capital is a leading provider of personalised wealth management services to high net worth clients, family offices, trusts, companies and pension plans. 

 

The assignment required an Agile expert and effective communicator from the financial services industry to drive tactical and strategic change across a complex evolving platform, and collaborate effectively with senior Business and technology stakeholders.

 

  • Ensure team follows Scrum and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles, practices and ceremonies 

  • Facilitate agile adoption through implementing process and optimising ceremonies (backlog refinement, sprint planning, poker estimation, stand ups, sprint review and retrospectives)

  • Track PI/ Sprint objectives, manage and escalate impediments, risks and dependencies

  • Deliver projects involving MiFID II, GDPR regulations with digital transformation

AIG

American International Group, Inc, (AIG) is a leading global insurance organisation which provides a wide range of property casualty insurance and other financial services.  

 

They were looking for someone to come in and help with Agile implementation for a high-profile predictive modelling project
 

  • Coach, transform and mentor multiple teams in AIG to follow Agile Scrum/ Kanban

  • Work with engineering teams to continuously improve product ownership and other agile processes

  • Run scrum ceremonies – backlog refinement, sprint planning, poker estimation, user story workshops (with ATDD, BDD), stand ups, sprint review and retrospectives

  • Manage the migration the analytical data warehouse platform

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to define, develop, shape and refine product vision/ requirements for a complex data warehousing and analytical modelling platform

  • Responsible for delivery and management of web & data-based science products and provide progress reports to senior management

Energy Provider (UK)

A leading energy supplier in UK who is helping their customers live more sustainably since 2009 has a need to assess the agile delivery capability for teams within Colleague Tech and support in implementing Scrum

 

  • Provide expertise to define, implement and operate a fit for purpose scrum-based delivery methodology for the Colleague Tech domain

  • Improve consistency for delivery of Colleague Tech Backlogs through key Scrum ceremonies – Product Backlog Refinement, Sprint Planning, Daily Stand Ups, Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives

  • Provides transparency and visibility regarding progress through clear Management Information via dashboards for such as team burndown and velocity using JIRA

  • Providing support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example
